Filtering throw the shade of many a tree and the elaborate mosh of orange, red and brown the sun shined brightly in this early morning. The Autumn air was brisk, carrying within its wisps the crackling leaves that had strewn the grounds of the island. Gwendolyn smiled happily, fall and spring were her favourite seasons... mainly because she liked the word "equinox" as it really does sound cool.
Tucking a lock of shoulder length blonde hair behind her ear, she leaned against the trunk, tucking her hands into the pocket of her white hoodie, breathing in the fresh air. Gwendolyn loved to be outside. She loved how free it made her feel. Her pale blue converse made crunching sounds as she found a comfortable postion, in which she slid down the bark into a sitting position and absent mindedly ripping at a small leaf ass she hummed the tune of Year of the Cat.

Walking out into such sunshine was definitely the worst possible idea. Morgan had skirted around in the area in an excursion to explore his new home, carefully avoiding the less shaded areas. He brought up his striped hood, making a quick leap through a rather bright spot, which had expanded thanks to an ever brightening sun. He moved as quickly as possible to find a building or cave or whatever, to hide out from the sun when it was at its highest.
He found himself beside a ridiculously large tree trunk. Thanking it for its shade, he circled in an attempt to find a less shined upon path. He pulled his hood down farther, feeling quite trapped. He circled to the darker side of the tree, slowly giving up. "Whatever, I'll just stay here." As he plopped himself down, balled up close to the trunk, he couldn't help but hear what he assumed to be a hummed tune. He shuffled his way farther over, still somewhat sitting, to the point where he assumed a couple steps would take him to whatever was making the noise. He stopped, leaning back to eavesdrop.
