[glow=red,2,300]The ruins of the Stone City were quiet and empty. The wind blow through the stone and the jungle, as if it was talking in a low whisper to it's surroundings, like it had a secret to tell that only nature could here. Occasionally, a bird chirped in the distance and the sound of frogs crocking echoed through the jungle. It was so peaceful....
Through the jungle, a small butterfly slowly and steadily flew between trees and flowers. Past small animals and other butterflies, though the were not as special as she was. Her white and purple wings flapped stronger to burst herself up over the tree tops, to get a better view of the city ahead. She wasn't far now. She pushed her wings down harder, trying to fly faster, but only going an extra foot before returning back to her normal speed. Once she reached the end of trees, she flew down suddenly and flapped her wings quickly. She hovered for a second and then almost in a split second, a short, red headed woman, landed on the ground with a small thud.
Raven stood up and shook off the weird feeling of changing forms. She hated doing that sometimes. Of course it was kinda her fault that it happened. Wandering to far into the jungle and getting chased by some large animal had scared her and she changed into her true form and flew as high as she could. "Note to self, NEVER do that again." Raven nodded and walked toward the Stone City. Raven liked this place, it was quiet and out of the way. Her being as young as she was, she felt like it was best to stay away till she felt comfortable enough to go out to meet people. Since she got nervous easily, there was always a chance of her transforming in front of someone she didn't know. Darn her and her shyness.
She came up to a broken stone pillar and hopped up gracefully on it, and laid back and let the sun soak into her skin. She smiled happily and placed her hands behind her head. "This is so peaceful."[/glow]

Reynard walked through the ruins examining them wondering what civilization had once lived here. The city seemed well planned and considering the remains were still here had obviously been well built. Strange glyphs also covered many of the stones. Reynard wished he could read them. Then perhaps he might know what had caused the ancient civilization to die. Cities like this weren't abandoned without reason. Something or someone had caused its abandonment.
Still Reynard knew it was unlikely he would find the answers considering how little he knew about the area. He was simply here to examine the area and scout it out. It never hurt to be familiar with the landscape. Knowledge was power and power was the most important thing in the world.
Reynard continued walking through the ruins examining the buildings and building a mental map of the area.

[glow=red,2,300]Raven opened her eyes slightly as she heard something in the distance, nothing she could really make out but it was a sound not normal to the ruins. She jumped down from the pillar and landed softly on the ground. She brushed the back of her white dress off and cautiously walked toward the noise.
When she got close, she saw a man. A very handsome man...
She blushed and hid behind one of the crumbled pillars and watch him carefully, gauging if he was friend or foe. She was nervous to go say hi, knowing that if he try to attack her, she would surely lose from her lack of speed during flight. She slowly moved out to get a better look.
He didn't seem evil or out to hurt anyone. She cautious moved out from behind the pillar and shouted in her light, whimsical voice. "Hello there!"[/glow]

Reynard examined a pillar covered in the strange looking glyphs wondering whether there was any way to figure out what they meant. Surely the glyphs were just another form of a code and all codes were breakable. Reynard himself had some experience in creating and breaking codes. Unfortunately he had never tried to break a code that he had absolutely no knowledge of. He was not even sure whether they read right to left, left to right, or top to bottom.
Suddenly a voice from behind Reynard called hello. He whirled around pulling a dagger out of his boot to find a young relatively attractive woman standing behind him. She didn't seem like a threat but Reynard still held the dagger just in case. It was unlikely she would attack him considering she had greeted him but he couldn't be too careful. This land was dangerous and Reynard had been surviving on his own.
"Hello" He replied "What are you doing in these ruins on this lovely day?"

[glow=red,2,300]Raven jumped slightly at the sight of the dagger being out. She took a few deep breaths to come herself. Didn't want to lose her skin in front of his young man whom she had just met, now did she? She held up her hands and held up two fingers in peaces as she slowly walked toward him.
"Hi, I'm friendly, I assure you. You may put you dagger away." She moved closer, turning around to show him that she had no weapons on her person, how could she really in a dress?
She slowly put her hand down to her sides and smiled shyly to the man. "I'm just out here explore, I don't have any friends here so i spend my time here. It's my sanctuary." Raven smiled and moved to the pillar that he was looking at and gently touched the glyph on the stone and sighed. "Everything is so peaceful here, it is just so calming. By the way" she smiled and held out her hand happily toward him, "I'm Raven, Raven Flutura"[/glow]

Reynard examined the woman for a second before putting away his dagger. It was unlikely that she was a threat. Even if she did attack him he thought he could handle her. She didn't exactly look very threatening. He smiled at her peace sign and let her approach him.
"Sorry about that, but these islands are dangerous and I have found it better to be safe than sorry. I hope I didn't offend you." Reynard doubted she would be offended but it was always good to be polite just in case. That way if they weren't offended then they instantly put you in the 'nice guy' category.
Reynard watched as the the woman examined the pillar before introducing herself as Raven Flutura. He reached out and shook her hand saying, "So you come here often? Any interesting things I should know about that place? I wish there was some way to read the writing. It would be interesting to learn about such an ancient civilization and what destroyed them. Don't you agree?" Reynard would be interested in knowing just what had destroyed the civilization. Perhaps some forgotten magic? Or simply a horde of barbarians. He hoped the girl knew something about the ruins that she could tell him. He doubted there would be anything as good as a chamber filled with treasure but any thing she could tell him could be useful.

[glow=red,2,300]Raven smiled and waved her hand in a gesture that is was nothing. "Don't worry about it, I kinda just jumped out of no where so you have a right to be jumpy. No harm done." she placed her hands behind her back and rocked on her heels before turning toward the pillars and stones.
She walked around them and traced the old writings. "I come here everyday. It's where I come for quiet, peace and somewhere to relax." she smiled back at him. She tranced a large symbol slowly. "Sadly, I can't seem to figure out what any of this means. I make notes about the writings all the time, trying to figure it out. But without a key to even on symbol, it's almost impossible." she looked at him with a slightly disappointment. "What brings you here?"[/glow]

Reynard smiled as Raven accepted his apology. It was good that she hadn't been offended. Although he hadn't had a fight in so long that he was starting to worry he might be getting rusty. Still it he knew making friends and contacts was far more useful then making enemies even if the enemies made life a lot more interesting. After all what was life without a challenge.
Reynard walked to the pillar Raven was examining. "Yeah you'd think someone would be able to read them. At the very least you'd think there would some stones with more than one language on them like the Rosetta stone that solved ancient Egypt's writing. I came here to explore. See if there is anything interesting here."
