In the decending twilight, where the crystar clear water crashed down from an infinite above into pools near a lush green with the serene melodic roar of the crashing fall that Ciardha found peace in all but his thoughts. It was far from Sol and Haven and their conflicts... Far from the mind of any another where he could stay without any fear or worry. Gazing with glazed eyes into the vast distance he found himself falling deeper and deeper into his thoughts, into ones much less of comfort but all in fond but mournful remembrance...
Losing him was probably the hardest thing that had ever happened to poor Ciardha and even now he wondered what had happened to Renard... Renard was special. Renard was the only person in all of his life that had not viewed him for a monster and dare-he-say-it loved him... Cared for him and Ciardha felt truly the same in all ways. Even striving to show proof of it.
Sighing audibly he stood stepping on a stone path that crosed the rushing silver stream... Shving his hands into the pockets of his hoodie he looked up into the starry sky and wondered. Wondered just what might have become of his lovely Renard...

.:Are you sure this is a good idea?:.
"No, but that won't stop me from doing it.
Renard was trekking up the peaks to the edge of the waterfall, his scythe strapped to his back. It was bigger than he was and a weapon he kept on hand at all times. This island wasn't like Chimera Academy. There were monsters and gnarly creatures here that threatened the lives of everyone that had decided to make the island their home. Draner was urging him against what he was doing, but he felt it had to be done.
The kitsune couldn't explain why, but it had to be done. Slowly, one foot in front of the other he walked before the earth beneath him gave and he dropped to his hands and knees in a last ditch attempt to stay alive. Although a single glance over showed the drop he dared not turn back. After all, he was almost there.
He held out his hand and dipped it into the icy water. Then the other hand. He was giving twelve seconds to think "oh crap" before the ground beneath him crumbled away. The silver haired boy spun wildly, landing with a huge splash in the pool below. His head scraped the bottom before he scrambled to break the surface, clawing at the grass and mud, pulling himself out.
He coughed, not noticing Draner's silence. Renard was too busy contemplating how he had almost died to realize that the very person that he'd missed the most was nearby.

It was in a unsoundly crash from the fall that made Ciardha turn around arupt and alert, there was gasping and coughing before Ciardha pinpointed the source of the noise. He paused in disbelief... Staring wide eyed in a cross between confusion, happiness, fear and excitement but most of all, hope. Ciardha was quick to react, helping the other out onto the bank and out of the water. He scanned him curiously... trying to finalize his theory.
It had to be him. It just had to be.
That soft pale skin, those beautiful blue eyes, his longish silver hair... He could have sworn they had originally had blue highlights... There were many differences but subtle ones. It had to be him. It had to be Renard. But if it were his Renard... He could only wonder.
"Renard?" He signed, hoping for an answer. Anything. Anything at all.

His hands felt totally numb and they were unable to clench around the grass. A person appeared, grabbing his hands and helping him out of the icy water. He shivered pathetically, silently grateful he was still alive when he glanced upwards, seeing the small chunk of earth that was missing from his fall. After some time to collect himself he turned to thank the person that had helped him out of the water.
Renard froze, but not from the water.
In the darkness the palor of his skin was obvious. His golden eyes and white hair collected the moonlight, and he was even still roughly the same height. Same build. Same facial structure and way of signing he remembered, all from three years ago.
And how could he forget? He had given his viginity to this man, and he had never seen him soon after that. All that time before he left he had been so sure it was love, and once the move to the island happened, Renard never saw Ciardha again. His heart was shattered into pieces, and the nights he'd cried about losing him made it ache even more inside. He tried to make it better, convincing himself that Ciardha was looking too, or that he'd died. After 3 years he was kneeling in front of him.
Renard. Was. ****ed.
"You!" He said--practically shouted--and jumped away from the albino, reaching behind him and undoing the catch on his scythe, brandishing it in front of him, fully prepared to exact revenge for what he had gone through these last few years, and the emotions exploding inside of him, happiness knowing that he was still alive and hatred knowing that he'd been taken advantage of and tossed away like litter.

"I can explain! I can explain!" Ciardha signed frantically as he was now practically eye level with Renard's scythe... When the hell did that get there??? Ciardha quickly brought himself to his feet. "I am SO SORRY." Those last words were rather expressive, stressed most feverishly as well. Pulling his thoughts together as he stepped aback, inwardly recoiling. "During the move... Where... I've been looking for you... I mean, oh... Oh... Um... Er... I love you?"
Why hadn't he seen this coming? Its been three ****ing years and Ciardha hadn't expected anything to come of that... Ciardha was ready to kill himself for being dumb enough to consider that. So much for the heart grows fonder apart... More like, decides to pull a scythe on you... But he had to admit, he probably did deserve it. Most people would be upset if you took their cherry and dissapeared for three years. Hell, in three years, he hypothetically coulda stolen 30 more cherries cheating on him or done something like that. Renard was right to be ****ed.
But Ciardha wanted to avoid being decapitated for today...
"Renard... I am really sorry... I don't know what happened... I didn't mean to be gone so long but somewhere during the move, I don't know what happened but... Man, you are a sight for sore eyes... And you are very well in he riht to be upset but in my defense it wasn't much I could control..." Ciardha shut up after that. He rather stop while he was ahead and he had already felt himself start digging into some sort of hole.

Renard's rage had secretly been building. He was so angry about what Ciardha did that even when he cried about losing him he grew angrier and angrier. And now, after three years his anger reached a fevered pitch. It had been three years, and the island is a limited size. There was no ****ing way he'd been looking, and Renard had been looking, for three years and they never found each other until now. After all that'd happened, all the crap he'd gone through, after being beaten up and hurt physically and emotionally because Ciardha wasn't there... he was happy to see him but was also so angry that it tilted the scale and made it so his happiness was a speck.
As the mute made a feeble attempt to save himself, Renard pulled his scythe away, until he was in a standing like a baseball player, and his boyfriend--excuse me, his ex-boyfriend--'s head was his target. He swung it around, but seeing him sign again he paused, wanting to see his last words to the world.
Even though he hadn't seen his love in 3 years, he still kept up with his sign language lessons, holding on the the feeble hope that he would find him and that he would have a suitable explanation for why he had been gone so, long. The kitsune watched, setting his scythe down vertically, the staff of it still in his hand, and watched him, awaiting the conclusion of what his 'explanation' would be.
When his hands stopped, Renard didn't lift his scythe again. He watched Ciardha silently before taking a deep breath. "You left me for three years. I thought you abandoned me! I thought you were DEAD! I'm somewhere between kissing you and killing you, you stupid bastard!" Renard had let his scythe fall now and brought his hands to his eyes, rubbing at the tears and water that was collecting there. "I cried... so much... you took my virginity and left me..."
Renard advanced on the man and began to hit him, but even though he could now wield a scythe that was larger than him, he was no stronger than he was three years ago. "You weren't there! So many times I needed you and you weren't there!" His blows became weaker and weaker, his words were blurred into sobs. "You bastard..."

Everything Renard had said had impact, beating him down harder and harder... Ciardha had always been very affected by words... An all these statements were not only true but hit home harder than Renard could have imagined. He had looked and looked but obviously not hard enough. He had taken the day after his night with Renard to really sort things out but had intended upon three years.
Renard threw what Ciardha considered pretty weak blows at him which only became lighter and lighter as he began to sob. Letting him into his arms, Ciardha held him close against him, wrapping his arms around his waist as he breathed him in. He had missed that, Renard had a particularly calming and comfortable feel to him. Ciardha could hold him in his arms forever.
Tipping up Renard's chin, he brought his lips to his. Renard's were as tender as he had remember and dreamed of for so many nights. It was passionate and Ciardha hoped it had conveyed how sorry he was. He loved him. More than anything else in the world and he truly hoped Renard understood that.

The tears would not stop as he felt Ciardha open his arms and pull him against his missing boyfriend. He had missed the albino so much that there were times he was almost sick with worry. But as he felt Ciardha's arms slink around his waist and so many sweet memories came rushing back, times that they only hung out or signed or did absolutely nothing at all. All the while he believed that what he felt for the mute was love.
Was it really?
Was that really what it was?
He accepted the kiss, letting the last of his tears roll down his pale cheeks, and the water drip off him. The Kitsune's lips fell away from the others and he blinked up into his golden eyes. Nothing had changed, had it? In fact, Renard was tempted to highlight his hair blue again, if only to commerorate that eveything was back to normal, the way things should have been.
But a little voice in his head, probably his logic, did not let him throw himself into Ciardha's arms again. Part of him was prepared to die before forgiving him.
So he pulled out of Ciardha's intimate embrace. "I'm not going to forgive you just yet. You're gonna have to do a lot of work before I let you off the hook for this." Renard leaned down, picking up his scythe and fixing it back into its catch. Once in place he turned and glared at him. "You better be prepared to work to regain my trust."
Still, behind this cold declaration was a bright hope, as a smile danced at the corners of his lips.

Reluctant to let go of Renard just yet, Ciardha let him anyway and in all honesty agreed with his decision not to quite forgive him yet. Ciardha smiled at him in a cross between "I love you, whatever the **** you say" and "Oh jeez" before signing:
"I don't honestly blame you. I love you more than anything else in the world and I don't know how the hell I avoided you unintentionally for so long but whatever I can do to make it up to you, name it. Anything."
Ciardha moved in just a little closer to take the other's hands in his and brought one to his lips, kissing it before lowering it back down next to the other, leaning in and pecking him on the cheek. He stared into Renard's eyes, more than anything he had missed Renard's company above all. Just having him around was enough for Ciardha.

Renard was happy to see that at least he understood exactly why he was so upset with the other. It went beyond not being there or even taking his cherry. He cold have survived without those things. What truly made him upset was that not only had he taken his cherry, but he'd never seen hide nor hair of him again, which meant that, possibly, he could have been cheating on him or doing who-knew-what. Chances were that he would never know whether he was cheating or not, but he would still have him regain what he'd lost.
And currently Renard was shaking like a leaf in his icey clothes, letting out a soft sneeze. No doubt he was coming down with some type of cold, probably pneumonia, and if not, staying out here would definitely cause hypothermia at worst.
"Your first test," He said then, rubbing to get circulation back into his arms, "take me to where you've been avoiding me this entire time."
He could get warm and do a background chek by examining his house. It seemed kosher enough to him!
