Due to the fact that Adrian is insubstantial his appearance is liable to change. He normally looks like a dark mist but when he is trying to remain unseen he can become virtually see-through. He can form his shape into intimidating figures when he simply wants to scare his opponents.(example pic above)
His anchor is a black pearl set in a silver necklace that Reynard wears around his neck. The pearl is virtually indestructible although the necklace is not. pic

Adrian rarely talks to anyone except Reynard but when he does speaks in a very refined British accent. He hates being trapped on this world but so long as he is captured he must obey whoever holds his anchor. Since the Halcyon family has promised to free him at the end of the century he does his best to serve them well. He unflinchingly attacks whoever he is ordered to no matter how strong they are. After all he has been in thousands of fights and has yet to actually meet someone who can permanently destroy him. Strangely enough for one of his race he doesn't like needless killing especially of people who deems are talented.

+Is insubstantial so he can't be hit by physical attacks. Also can walk through walls.
+Due to the fact that he is insubstantial he can fly and go under water without consequence.
+Can drain nearby people of emotions and energy to make himself stronger.
+Necromancy and black magic.
+Almost impossible to kill since once you defeat him he simply returns to his pearl.

Adrien's Anchor has been passed down in Reynard's family for several generations. The original owner told Adrien that he would be freed at the end of the century however since Adrien is a Shade he has little concept of time and hasn't realized that he should have been freed by now. Reynard came into possession of the anchor when he killed his father.
