Yama looked down the path, toward the long line of shops. Her friends were probably around here somewhere. It was the ideal place to be during the day. It would help if he had met them before, or at least knew their personalities or hobbies. Both would have been preferable. Then he could make a pretty decent guess at what they were doing. Since it was noon, it was probably smart to check all the restaurants or just sit on a bench and wait for a bit.
He looked at Kiyoko. She would be happy to get back to her friends, especially after spending so much time with him.
Even knowing her reason for being so wary, it frustrated him a bit. He was an actor, a professional. He should at least be able to make her comfortable around him. But she meant more than a job, a project. He liked her and was drawn to her. She was a mystery, and although he'd met people like her, she was somehow different. Her innocence was so alluring.
But he didn't want to destroy it. No, he liked her innocense. If it was easily destroyed she wouldn't be attractive.
"If you see your friends, tell me."
It wasn't worth saying; he would be able to tell when she saw them. He could already imagine how her face would brighten and how she would visibly relax. She would be happy to see them. | |

Kiyoko nodded timidly as Yama spoke to her. This was the first few words he had mustered since their departure from his home. It was indeed a silent journey. Though, the silence allowed her mind to race into a fit of questions and answers. What still bothered her was the fact that she couldn’t remember how she ended up on those rocks. In the middle of nowhere. She’s never experience an episode of sleep walking in a day of her life though this was the only logical explanation her tired brain could come up with. Truthfully, it frightened her. What if it happened again? What if that time…no would find her? The thought sent chills up her arms and she rubbed them violently. The other issue on her mind related to the boy in her dreams. Twice she fell asleep and both times he accompanied her. Was it merely coincidence? It all felt so real…he seemed so real. His face, she swore she has seen his face before. Yet, where? A small pang hit the sides of her head and Kiyoko rubbed her temples to relieve of the pressure. She gazed at the concrete path, ignoring the surrounding shops and the small crowd of civilians. She gasped, noting the shops and mild crowd of civilians. Home! Well…close. But, she was home! She bolted in front of Yama searching anxiously for her friends. They were looking for her right? One of them must be waiting here. She scanned every living being but came up short. Her shoulders slumped in disappointment and she hugged her arms as if comforting herself. Of course, the worst case scenario ran throw her mind. What if they forgot about her? She shook her head pounding her forehead. They would never! She sighed and just stood there…in the middle of the street, letting the wind mess up her hair. Suddenly, a dominate high pitched voice surged through all the noise.
“KIIIIIIYOOOOOKOOOOOO!!!!!!!!”
Kiyoko fell under attack from arms wrapping around her from behind. It was these such arms that kept her from falling flat on her face.
“Kiyoko! Kiyoko! I found you! Your ok!” Ariana’s voice raised an octave higher with every word. “You had me soooooo worried! I thought I’d never find you again!”Ariana gave her friend enough room to spin into a one eighty so they were face to face. “Ho-how did you get here???”
Kiyoko bit her lip and pointed over Ariana’s shoulder. She glanced over her shoulder to find an unfamiliar stranger. Ariana snapped her attention back to Kiyoko.
“Hey, whose that?” She asked.
“My…s..s..savior.” Kiyoko felt her face heating as she sputtered the word savior.
Ariana’s eyes widened from excitement and she sported a huge grin. She spun around on her heals to confront her friends “savior”.
“You saved Kiyoko!?” She began. “Oh that’s so nice of you! You’re so kind! I’m sure she was so scared! I can image her all alone in the middle oF nowhere. Oh, how pitiful that must have been! O my gosh! Let me guess, you probably scared her too didn’t ya? That’s just Kiyoko for ya, but I see she got over her fear! Or else she wouldn’t have followed you, right? Oh, I’m so proud! How can I thank you enough for rescuing my friend! I could just like hug you right now but I know that would be weird so I won’t. But if I could I so would!” She giggled hysterically then stuck out her fairly close to the stranger. “By the way, my name is Ariana, Kiyoko’s BFF! Nice to meet you!”

A loud, obnoxious voice called Kiyoko’s name. Bingo. Her friends. As he turned around to look at the girl, all he could think was “…oh… joy. . .” She was so enthusiastic he couldn’t help but be amused. She seemed the do-gooder type who never let anything much bother her. No wonder she was Kiyoko’s friend. They went well together, he supposed. Kiyoko needed someone who would push her and encourage her to be social.
He smiled as he watched the two girls; it was his fake gentlemanly smile he gave to annoying people he would rather knife than talk to. It didn’t take long for the girl to notice him. He smiled at her and listened intently. After all, he wanted a good impression if he wanted to be accepted by her friends.
Nice of him…? Kind? More like obsessed. Scared her? An understatement. She hadn’t really had a choice in following him, now had she? Thanks? He didn’t want any. ….. hug….? She was right to stay away.
So in the end she wasn’t as empty-headed as she seemed. She knew her friend well, as it was, and that counted for something. This was almost a disappointment, really. It would be much easier to trick people without much sense. This probably needed serious play, so he continued his smile and nodded as she finished, then replied in a cheerful tone.
”Oh, it was my pleasure! She wasn’t much trouble at all, actually. I found her out on one of the islands while it was raining. The poor girl was soaked, so I brought her to a place where she could take a shower and dry her clothes before coming here to search for you.”
The first part was true, it really had been his pleasure to have her at his house, which he purposefully left unmentioned. In reality, though, Kiyoko had been quite a bit of trouble. But it had been worth it. She really had been adorable in her wet clothes…
