She let out a soft yawn when she made her decision. Her body wasn't cooperating anymore. She wouldn't be able to keep up her normal activities and that would only set off more and more red flags. Soon he would confront her about it and she would have no choice but to tell him the truth. Sure, Aeon had no problem not telling someone something or dancing around a subject that she didn't feel like discussing, but if he asked her straight out if she was pregnant then she would answer yes. Gunner refused to lie to Shou, because for the most part she didn't lie to him. She didn't always tell the truth but she didn't lie. Lying was bad. Lying was wrong.
When he said to hop on, Gunner walked over and climbed onto his back. Feeling achy and tired she closed her eyes for a little while, letting the sound of the water lull her to sleep. Part of the reason she'd wanted to walk was because if Soga carried her on his back like she assumed that he would, was because her stomach would inadvertadly be pressed against his back. And in those conditions he was bound to feel that she had gotten... bigger. And would most likely be able to tell that it wasn't soft fat from her eating too much or not excercising, but a firmer type of fat. Like something inside of her was making her stomach expand.
Gee, she wondered what...
When the roar became much too loud the waterfall she opened her eyes and the waterfall was in sight. She smiled wide. Half of her thought that they were never going to get there. The other half of her wanted to soak her feet in that pool of water. It looked so crisp and cool... She slid off of his back and sat on the grass, laying spread eagle as she stared up into the blue sky. It was such a lovely day...
Okay... so... what should she do now? She wanted to swim... but... She took a deep breath. What should she say? How could she say it? Ugh, it was so frustrating! "Uh... Shou?"

Yeah, I killed that character, but they got themselves in that situation all on their own

As soon as she was on his back he started walking. The first thing he noticed was that she was slightly heavier than she had been the last time he had carried her (which was a while ago). The second thing he noticed that she was definitely not as thin as she was, explaining the weight difference. The problem was, why? Why was she suddenly heavier? She hadn't been eating differently, at least not that he saw. Though... now that he thought about it, her energy level had declined slightly. And then there were her swollen feet to consider. Was she feeling alright?
She laid her head on his shoulder and he glanced at her. Eyes closed, she was relaxing. He smiled slightly and looked back at the trail, but his smile faded as he noticed that she was shaking ever so slightly. It was almost not there and it soon stopped; had he imagined it?
Aeon was slipping slightly to he hiked her up a bit and kept walking. Again, he couldn't help but notice her stomach and weight difference. He suddenly realized it wasn't just her stomach... her—He hated to even think it—Her breasts were bigger... His faced flushed a little at the thought and he shook his head to rid himself of the dirty thoughts that came flooding in.
It took him a long while to completely rid himself of them but he tried to distract himself with adding everything up, her odd behaviors that he might have noticed and dismissed. He could only come up with one reason and his only thought was "Oh, crap, was she sick this morning?"
After thinking through the morning and not remembering her feeling unwell, he second guessed his conclusion... And then the waterfall came in sight.
He had barely noticed the roar of the water as it cascaded down the rocky Cliffside. Now it had his full attention. At least until Aeon slid off his back. Then she, once more, had his undivided, utterly complete attention. She laid on her back and seemed to be pretty happy. He kind of stood there and watched her, letting a smile play on his lips. The worry about... well, her, wasn't gone, but she was incredibly cute laying there. She sat up and looked at him.
“Uh… Shou?”
He sat down beside her and sighed. She wanted to tell him something and he was pretty sure he knew what. Might as well say it for her, since she seemed at a loss for words...
”You’re pregnant?” he asked with a small half-knowing half-inquiring smile. And that was the can of worms, officially opened.

Gunner closed her eyes, trying, for the moment, to block out the loudness of the falls. She needed to focus. That was the most important thing right now. She found that even after she'd spoken his name and he'd begun to give her his generally undivided attention, the words to express her utmost feelings of--something, she didn't really know what to call the emotion--weren't coming to mind.
But they didn't need to come. Shou sat down beside her and she scooted a little closer to him, closing her eyes and resting her tired head on his shoulder. Aeon sighed a little, and started thinking again. She should have been thinking about this before. Well, she had been, but that didn't make telling your boyfriend that you were pregnant any easier. Why? The unicorn liked to think that she was okay with it, so saying it out loud wouldn't change anything...
Where did all the fear come from? Why was she so hell bent on hiding her pregnancy from her boyfriend?
As it turned out, she really didn't have to say anything to Shou. He already knew, and in the back of her mind she screamed for an explanation. How had he known she was pregnant? Had he always known and kept it a secret for funnies? That made her mad, and for the man's sake he better not have known for a long while and not said anything or Gunner could not be held responsible for her actions. Pregnant and placid were two things that very rarely went together well.
"Well, actually I was going to say that I forgot to bring a bathing suit, but..." she let the sentence hang there for a little while, a sort of forced smile on her face. This conversation made it real, which was probably why she never wanted to have it. Them sitting here, together like this, make it abundantly clear that the baby was real. And while she was okay with it, it's a lot easier to be okay with something you were on the fence about the reality of. "Uh... yeah... I'm pregnant..."
She looked down at her still bare feet, and curled her toes a little. "How long have you known?"
