– Yama has medium dark brown hair with light brown highlights. His skin is pale and he has a handsome yet feminine face. He dresses in mostly black with maybe a small bit of color. He is thin and about regular height. He looks younger than he is and that has very little to do with the fact that he is a mythical creature.

Yama is about the size of a house cat, maybe a little bit larger. His form is lithe and strong. He has white paws and a black stripe that starts at his nose and tapers off at the top of his head. A brown streak runs from his left eye to a little before and below the bottom of his ear before running back to his jaw. The rest of his body is a patched with brown, white or black.

Yama is the typical Cheshire cat. He immensely enjoys vexing conversations, especially when he is the one making it that way. He will use his looks, his eyes, his smile, and anything about him that he can to get what he wants, including his vast knowledge of weapons, poisons, and anything having to do with the words ‘lethal’, ‘deadly’, or ‘harmful’. He has an interest in pain and death, though it should never be confused with an obsession. It is in no way a necessary part of his every-day life. His skills are valuable, and he has often in the past been hired as an assassin. The proof of his skills lies in the fact that he is not in jail, has never been in jail, nor is he dead (nor does he use his ‘skills’ as a Cheshire cat when assassinating humans).

He is often impatient and along with that comes headstrong. If/when he is not on a job he can be airheaded and a little ditzy. He has a soft spot for birds, especially a certain Phoenix named Areyna. He is allergic to fish and the taste of rodents makes him vomit. That being said, beware if you are a reptile; you are the only thing he eats! On the other hand, if you are a cat then you are safe! He has surprising loyalty to other felines. (unless, of course, you are a chimera with a reptile mix. At that point you are prey.)

As with most assassins, Yama is a doctor, though he is better skilled than most of his kind: he knows how to treat any wound that he could possibly inflict and has an antidote to all of his poisons. As with his ability to harm, he is not too keen on freely sharing his ability to heal. Applying undetectable poison on blades is his specialty. In other words, he can make a poison that sits dormant for a few hours, but once it is active it kills in less than five minutes. This poison can also be dry on the blade but still infect the person.
Note: the opportunity to get on a dangerous person’s ‘good side’ is plenty reason for him to help someone… or to kill someone.
