"I never said they didn't want to save him." Cecily's eyes narrowed, "I just said they didn't. Do not try to put words in my mouth that I have not said. I do not want to hurt you, for I find you most interesting." The darkness in her look faded and she smiled at him. "The humans were wise to wait, good things happen to those who wait...most of the time. At least the Scots were smart in this area. They gambled that another leader would come and they won." Cecily sighed and brought her tails about her dainty feet, "Now let us talk of something else, this little debate of ours grows tiresome. Though..." A smirk came to her muzzle, "It was interesting while the fun lasted."
"But the herbal part is the best part!" Cecily's eyes shimmered with excitement. "And the most trying culinary concoction."
Laughter rang through her head, "I did not stereotype you, I merely called you that the tease you. " she looked at him with a raised eyebrow, "My, you take things way to seriously my "little" friend." She laughed again, "Yes every stereotype has it's truths, but not everyone labeled with this holds those qualities." She caught sight of his eyes, blazing like Hell's flames. Drawing closer she looked at them. "You know, you might have a little problem with foxes and breeds like that. I might be wrong, but with that look, it is like you are trying to murder them all with your eyes." She smirked and turned again and walked away before sitting down once more, "What a shame, those breeds are the spice of life, always keeping things interesting, and people on their toes."
"The worst I have eh? The very worse. I think that would only increase your dislike of foxes, then you would never come back to see the good. Am I right? How about this, and exchange memory for memory. I will show you my worst and a good memory if you show me one of your worst and one of your best." She stared steadily, "You must know that I am being gracious with you, that's probably because I have started taking a liking to you." The grin on her face was full of mischief.

"Oh it might be true that not everyone labeled with them has them, but can you blame someone for caution? And I do take things seriously because everything has relevance in some way or another. Every word spoken is a reflection of what is in the mind. Granted I see more of the mind than many, but that doesn't take away from the importance of your words.
"And however much I might dislike stereotypes, you haven't failed in upholding it. So if you really want to argue on those grounds, you better start acting very well."
Aeryn laughed when she talked of how he was trying to murder the breeds that he hated with his eyes, "I suppose they have their place in the world. I would never commit a genocide, but I would easily commit individual murders."
He chuckled, then narrowed his eyes at her, "No you aren't. I'll always take the good in stride with the bad. I just judge on which one prevails most." He had to stop when she proposed a memory trade off. Did he really want her to see one of his most startling memories and share one of his best? The mind was capable of conveying feeling, of allowing one to relive the past, and if someone else had access to it, then it made it just as real for them. Especially in minds such as theirs, the memories would be increasingly vivid. Most people would see other's memories in third person, as though watching from afar, but with Cecily and Aeryn, it would probably be more like frist person, experiencing everything that the other person did. Aeryn didn't take kindly to sharing things like that with people, especially not complete strangers. That was not what he had had in mind when he started this little venture.
"I have two choices here, I can agree to it and once I have her memories, refuse to share mine. That would be a lie, but I doubt that my conscience couldn't handle it. Or, I could just say no and then take things as they come. If I say no then she will probably just kick me out. Oh well, I suppose that I should do the honorable thing."
When he had weighed the pro's and con's he finally replied to her "gracious" offer, "Well, Cecily, my mind was never part of the deal. I have kept it closed from your access for a reason. Closed it will stay. Although, you do flatter me, most people take a strict dislike to me the second they start a conversation. It's quite sad, but you have proved quite different."

Cecily's ghostlike appearance in her mind nodded and smiled. This time her smile was a true smile, no hint of a smirk or playfulness. "I can understand." Her head tilted to the side slightly, "I sometimes that is why most people can't read minds, it keeps everyone sane. You have a gift, and one that is very powerful." She dipped her head, "I thank you"
When he mentioned it being sad that she proved different she just blinked and the smile grew wider, "Don't think it sad, think it a refreshing change." She settled down on her haunches, eyes focused on her feet for a moment. "Now." her eyes slowly climbed to his, "As much as I have enjoyed our little bantering, it seems it is time for my mind to be at peace with only one person treading on its territory." The portal that she had closed now opened once again. It was so peaceful in her mind right now, it was almost like a silent lullaby, something you could feel. "I would say quickly, for I am about to let "chaos" reign once more and I wouldn't want you to get caught up in it." Her face was honest. For once.

Aeryn left Cecily's mind without much hassle. His eyes blinked, pulling him back to the reality that was outside of her mind. He had gotten just a slight taste of her character and he was sure that he would enjoy many more little tastes. She was intriguing to say the least and he would have plenty of things to discover about her. He wouldn't get bored with her easily. Most women were quite easy to see through. They had one thing that they held central to themselves, despite their multifaceted brain. When they established what that one thing was that meant more to them than anything, they kept it as the key to everything. When you figured out what it was that drove them, then you knew all of the mysteries. Everything made sense to you.
Cecily must have had one such thing, but hers was so strangely categorized that it comprised many different subjects. He could tell that her tea's were a key part of her minds flow, but other than that, he had no worthy leads. He would pursue her until he found what the key to her existence was. Maybe by then he would know her well enough to actually call her a friend. He had never been able to develop a strong friendship with people that he had figured out simply because they were so shallow. However, Cecily's multidimensional character was just enough to satisfy his need of time, a hobby, and possible a reliable person.
"The night is beginning to wax and I believe that I am keeping you from your 'tea-making'. I shall tread on your time no longer, but I will find you again," he spoke politely, but then, as he turned away from Cecily added a bit of edge to his voice, "Until next time, my curious little fox." He then leaped into the air, spreading his large, black feathers wings, flying off into the distance.

Cecily viewed the wolf with an expressionless face. His bidding of farewell caused her to nod her head in farewell. Then she watched his disappearing figure, unable to turn her gaze from it as a smirk crawled to her face. An interesting night. Farewell... Her eyes narrowed, " Aeryn" She spoke the last words aloud feeling how they felt in her mouth. " Goodbye my big wolf." SHe made sure to send that thought through her mind in a powerful manner so he could hear. Then she shook her head. Bloody wolf should know I am a kitsune not a fox." It was almost like she could hear his response, or perhaps it was her own, But he has wing, wolves don't posses such qualities. She scowled, Foxes don't have five tails, he has two more wings than a wolf, whereas I have four more tails than a fox. Thus I am less of a fox that he is of a wolf." She mulled over this for a moment and was satisfied by her reasoning. It was then that she noticed that he was gone and she shrugged and turned back the way she came. Her paws hesitated for a moment as she cast a look back toward the clearing. She would think about this meeting as she made her way back. " Time to run." The smirk turned to a smile and she shot off into the night, feet flying over the ground until she looked like a white stream of light dodging, and leaping about the trees and over rocks. Her mind was no longer on the curious wolf she had met, but had already flipped to what she was planning to make back in her little home. It was strange, the whole meeting that had taken place. It had tried both of them, but also brought out interesting qualities. Little did Aeryn know that he had been manipulated by the tricky little fox. Cecily didn't even know she had been manipulating him. Somehow she had discouraged him from looking into her mind, and he had left in both mind and presence. Secretly she wondered what he thought of her mind. Many had told her it was a safe haven from the outside world and were driven mad by trying to get back into it, others were so flooded by the chaos that they went insane. Still there was the last group, the one that was probably the most common, the ones haunted by the white fox in their dreams. Cecily seemed to have a sort of poison in her, and once you met her it intoxicated you, never leaving you the same. The thing that drove the men so crazy is that she was so close in their dream, but always out of reach. The fox always teased them, and appeared randomly in their thoughts. Which category would Aeryn fall in or would he create a new category? THE END[/center[
